Hi, my name is Ethan Clement,
co-owner of BuddyLandscaping.
My passion for business has been brewing since I was a kid. Back then, Anthony and I would go door-to-door offering to mow lawns in the summer and shovel driveways in the winter. At first, it was just about making a little extra money, but over time I realized how much I enjoyed the process of building something of our own and working directly with people in the community. That early spark is what set me on the path toward entrepreneurship.
Having lived in Ottawa my whole life, I’ve developed a strong connection to this city and the people in it. Landscaping allows me to combine my entrepreneurial drive with my love for the outdoors, while also giving me the chance to create lasting value for homeowners. There’s something rewarding about seeing a project go from start to finish
In my free time, I stay active and adventurous. I enjoy fishing, weightlifting, and playing hockey — all things that push me, keep me disciplined, and fuel my competitive side. These passions outside of work keep me balanced and motivated, and they’ve taught me lessons I carry into running a business every day.
Today, I’m extremely happy to be pursuing my dream of owning a landscaping company alongside Anthony. For me, BuddyLandscaping is more than just a business — it’s about hard work, community, and creating outdoor spaces that people can truly enjoy
Outside of landscaping, I enjoy spending time outdoors on the lake — swimming, boating, and especially fishing. I enjoy going to the gym and I play junior C hockey for the Kanata Kings, where being part of a team teaches me the same values I bring to my work — dedication, teamwork, and perseverance.
Landscaping has been a passion of mine from the very beginning, and today, it’s more than just a business — it’s about building lasting relationships, creating outdoor spaces people are proud of, and turning visions into reality.

co-owner of BuddyLandscaping.
My passion for business started when I was about eight years old. Back then, my friend Ethan (now my business partner) and I would go door-to-door mowing lawns in the summer and shoveling driveways in the winter. At the time, we were just trying to save up for things we wanted — like the latest video games, a new hockey stick, or even an iPod — but looking back, that’s where my love for entrepreneurship really began.
Over the years, that passion grew into something bigger: landscaping. I love bringing people’s outdoor visions to life, whether that’s building a new patio, refreshing a garden, or simply keeping a lawn in top shape. The best part for me is seeing the excitement and happiness on our clients’ faces when a project is complete. Before we started BuddyLandscaping, I spent two summers working with a local landscaping company, where I gained hands-on experience and developed the skills to branch off on my own.
Last summer, I was selected to be part of Invest Ottawa’s youth entrepreneurship program, Summer Company. Through this program, I received a grant to help launch BuddyLandscaping and had the opportunity to be mentored by seasoned entrepreneurs — an experience that pushed me to grow as a business owner and take our company to the next level.
